Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has advised the consumers of slow internet exertion amid conservation work on Thursday.


According to a announcement issued by the PTA, a power reconfiguration exertion on a section of transnational submarine string, SMW4, will be accepted on 21 April 2022 from 2am-7 am. This may beget some internet druggies to experience downgraded pets during the mentioned time only, stated the announcement. It added that alternate measures to give continued internet services to druggies would be taken. Still, the internet services will be available as usual throughout the country.


Replying to the listed conservation work by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority amid Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s public meeting in Lahore, the party’s central leader Omar Ayub Khan stated, “ We'll not stand it.” Using his Twitter handle, the former civil minister stated that it was a blatant attempt by the PTA to decelerate down internet speed on the day of PTI’s public meeting in Lahore. He added that the listed conservation work would affect the collaboration conditioning and potentially Imran Khan’s speech. He demanded the PTA to delay its conservation schedule by a day.
