Pakistan's new cabinet: 36 cabinet members set to take oath

After mounds of political uncertainty Pakistan might be looking forward to better days parliamentarians gathered in Islamabad to finalize the new cabinet our sources say that the Pakistan Muslim League is going to be allotted the maximum number of portfolios followed by Pakistan's people party getting 11 posts the j-u-i is being given four portfolios and remaining seats will be handed over to other parties hours from now the new cabinet will be announced in detail 36 cabinet members are set to take oath today prime minister's office has already contacted the president for the ceremony even after a week of a new government being announced prime minister Shahbaz Sharif has failed to reveal the names this is not good news for Pakistan.

In fact, it is concerning because the current government doesn't have the privilege of time Imran khan's administration has left behind a series of crises many unexpected the new coalition government to be ready to tackle the issues people of Pakistan were expecting a smooth takeover simply because it was long known that they had the number behind them it has always known that the economy foreign policy militancy and political challenges will be a priority for the incoming government so why wasn't Shahbaz sharif prepared Pakistan bureau chief anas malik is now joining us live from Islamabad with the latest on that front good to see you anas malik tell us more about the anticipation building up in Pakistan

before the unveiling of the shambas sharif cabinet outlook, there's been a lot of back and forth on the cabinet uh of eric and just a short while back we heard again from presidency sources that uh the oath-taking has now been postponed once again so that means one more day of Pakistan being without a functional setup or a functional government uh though yes there is a prime minister that is in place but uh his arms that are the ministries they're not functional and they're still being made to function through uh the through the secretaries having said that uh the other thing is that there is uh what we can confirm is that earlier there was a proposal that the cabinet would be phased out now that has been put under the table and now there is only one go of the cabinet at 36 member cabinet which would be having 14 ministers from the Pakistan Muslim league
